Making a Basic Web Page for Class

The purpose of this assignment, which you will continue to develop throughout the term, is to create a basic web page for yourself or some interest of your own. You will place a copy of your site in the t:drive on days when the site is due or put it online so that we can easily look at your work during class. Not only will this provide you with some extra practice in creating basic web features, but this page will be a place you can experiment with various techniques and approaches to web design as the course progresses. I will expect that you continue to develop it throughout the term. I am not going to dictate the content of the site because I want it to reflect your interests and what is relevant for the subject you choose. I want to encourage you to use this project to use the web to further expression of your own interests, whether these are academic, creative, or personal. However, your final page should contain the following technical elements:

• At least five working links to internal pages within your own site
• Your link buttons should be rollovers with at least an up and over state
• At least two different sized pieces of text
• At least one image that has been altered and/or optimized using photoshop or imageready
• When your page is finished, put it in your public_html folder and email the address to me jasheppa@nmsu.edu
