Interactivity Scavenger Hunt

Instructions

  1. Please take some time to explore as many of the sites below as possible. You don't have to write about each one, but investigating a variety will better allow you to see the diversity of approaches to interactivity.
  2. Choose five different sites from five different categories. (Please note that this is a highly idiosyncratic selection; feel free to look at other sites -- but please record the names & addresses of the sites you visit when you do the next step.)
  3. Using a list and short explanation, record everything on those five sites that you would consider to be a sample of interactivity, and briefly describe how or why. Keep in mind that interactivity may refer to how you as the user engage with the content OR what kind of interactions the site makes possible for users to do on their own. Connect your ideas about what constitutes interactivity to any of the readings by Selfe, Crawford, and Manovich when appropriate.
