Purpose
The purpose of this project is to familiarize you with Fireworks, an image creation
and editing program intended mostly for Web-based design work. In addition,
you can use Fireworks to animate Web graphics, add interactivity for your users,
and optimize both bitmap and vector images for better display and download on
the Web.
Platform
This
project can be done on both the Mac and PC sides.
Assignment
To give you a basic understanding of some of
the most useful capabilities of Fireworks, this assignment asks you to work
through all six of the Lessons included with the program. You
will learn how to create quick animations, Slices, Rollovers, Pop-Up menus,
and to speed up repetitive tasks. With Fireworks open, you can access these
by going to Help>Lessons. All the needed image files for the lessons can
be found in Groups>classes>HU2644_Spring 2002>References>lessons_fireworks
or under Macintosh HD>Applications>Macromedia Fireworks>Lessons on
the Mac.
